Connie Compliance

At the busy harbor, the Cargo Crew was getting ready.
Boxes were packed. Wheels were rolling.
One little red wagon carried a special crate.

“The ship is waiting!” called Dash.
“Let’s hurry, hurry, hurry!”
But Connie looked at the crate’s bright yellow rule card.

“This crate needs a true label, a safe strap,
and two careful checks,” said Connie.
A hurried box huffed, “Can’t we just go?”

Connie shook her head, kind but sure.
“Some choices are right, and some are wrong.
The rules help us know the difference.”

First, Bill read the label aloud.
Every word matched. Every count was true.
“First check—just right!” said Connie.

Then Connie looked again—once, then twice.
Under one corner, a little buckle was loose.
“Good thing we checked,” said Gwen.

Click went the buckle. Tight went the strap.
“Following rules keeps our friends safe,” said Connie.
“Even when we’re in a hurry.”

The hurried box blinked. “So rules do not stop us?”
“No,” smiled Connie. “They help us do things right—
for every helper, every crate, every trip.”

At the gate, Cass checked the card and smiled.
“True label. Safe strap. Right choice.”
STAMP! The special crate was ready to roll.

Dash drove. Ollie sailed. The crate arrived safe and sound.
And the whole crew cheered for Connie,
who knew that doing what is right
helps everyone along the way.
